that without which we would most certainly die slowly in pools of our own filth

Beasts of burden, idiot man-children, prophets, mystics and members of the board:

That voice of memory which speaks in whispered, paranoiac timbres of times best besotten performs its violence upon matter much in the way that History Himself overcodes all of the minor, quotidian differentiations that make up the rhizomatic flows of humanity — funnelling all those variations into a linear path of post-determination and setting the stage for a pre-determination of possibility like a Daniel-Gottlieb-Moritz-Schreberian posture-straightener around the potential for living intensity.
The antidote lies in the rigorous investigation of the manifold layers of experiential time-sense — the infinitude of insignificant divergences from the Monuments of Mankind, be those monuments in the guise of god, state or celebrity. Divergences that release the flows of ambiguity and irresolve. The erasure of Judgement in favor of the cultivation of the play of forces.

Such as might be prone to occur at Bickett Gallery on Wednesday evenings, beginning around 10-ish.

But first, other happenings–

Martin St Music Hall, Raleigh, on Saturday the 29th of January: Kolyma will cause grievous bodily damage to those in attendance. This band features compositions by Mike Isenberg (drums), Jennifer Thomas (vox, guitar, bass, perc), Russ DeSena (bass, guitar, vox) and Crowmeat Bob (guitar, alto sax, vox).
We will preform last of three bands, including Dudegarden and TV Knife.

And on Friday, January 28th at the Cave in Chapel Hill: Mowing Lawns, featuring the slacker ballads of Mike Meyerson written in collaboration with Todd Emmert, will woo your sore spirits into rapture. Mike Glass on drums and Chris who’s surname I don’t know on bass and myselves on sax, guitar and bass clarinet.
Also preforming will be Transportation.

At the Bickett Gallery, probable pre-determinate variable conspirators (the sharing of oxygen being a necessary ritual element) include:

Jan 26: Razor Wire Safety Net + Tyson Rogers & Tom Whitelock
Tyson on keys and electrons (tysonrogers.com — he preformed here before with Distribution Pattern), Tom on guitar (he played at Guitarfest here a couple of weeks ago). Razor Wire Safety is Christopher Thurston on basses, Brian Donohoe on drums and Crowmeat Bob on horns and guitar.

Feb 2: The Blue Rose Case
Featuring Chris Eubank (Ugly Americans, SharkQuest, Defenestrator, Spatula, Micro East Collective, etc, etc, etc…) on cello, Carrie Shull (Pulsoptional, Micro East, Eugene Chadbourne’s Insect & Western Trio, etc, etc…) on oboe and english horn, Dan Hall (Countdown Quartet, Django Haskins, Defenestrator, Alex Bowers, etc, etc…) on drums and Slowfeet Bob (Flash Gordon’s Ape) on horns and guit.

Feb 9: The Razor Wire Safety Nets + Andrew Austin & a possible other as-yet-undetermined guest.
Andrew on guitar. A new transplant to the area from Utah. Usual Razor Wire suspecks.

Feb 16: curated by Drew Robertson (Bob will be absent, preforming at a gig in Chapel Hill)

Enough to fill your brains with. For now.

Now to cast some likely inconsequential scribblings into the electro-logosphere pertaining to the whatabouts of certain happenstances if not designed then at least desired to have some invasive, intrusive or inductive effect upon our virgin viscera, primarily within the aural spectrum of perceptibility. (The question whether or no this may be considered the most onotologically privileged aspect of the sensorium we will leave to those more qualified than ourselves.)
As follows:

(note: All convocations commence in or around the neighborhood of Bickett Gallery, Wednesday evenings, 10-10:30 pm, variegably dependent on potential interstitial foldings of temporal equilibirii.)

January 19: Cruelbient
In the descriptory lingo of Rattmouth: “The lineup will be Bob (playing an arsenal of instruments from sax to saz), Brian Donohoe (on drummy beaty thingies), Esotic (running real-time video loops of naked chicks in a cage), DJ.exe (spinning Bukowski farting over a Sam Cooke loop). This all begins Wednesday night at about 10 pm.”
I’m given to understand that the video loops and vinyl manipulatin will have perhaps more variety than denoted here. But one never knows, does one. That’s Esotic aka Dave Zahn and DJ.exe aka Matt Routh.

January 26: Razor Wire Safety Net + un-settled-upon guest(s)
Briney Donohoe again on drums. Christopher Thurston on basses. Slowfeet Bob on horns/guitar.

Feb 3: The Blue Rose Case (unconfirmed)
This band is the reason Tim offered up the Wednesday eves at Bickett in the first place. Carrie Shull on oboe. Chris Eubank on cello & upright electric bass. Dan Hall on drums. Slawfeet Bob on horns/guit.
