There are those among us who are understandably concerned about the latest trends in excessive signification tactics in the strategic production of meaning. Whereas numerology has been justly subordinated to the ranks of pseudo-scientific approximation in its presumed laying bare of both intersticial objectivity and logocentric mysticism, we can still smell the rank breath of Fibonaccian foul play emanating from those bureaucrats of pure accountability who presume to sit in judgement on our internal affairs.
We would like to assure you that these delicate matters are being dealt with at our head office through means which are deemed most appropriate by our Golden Ways and Means Department — and are proportionate to their direct effects on investor stability, as enunciated in Company by-law 216-IAO.
In the mean-time, please go about your various pursuits with confidence that they will make no more sense than is required by law.
Monday, April 17, Kings Barcade, 10 pm: The Eastern Seaboard + Crowmeat Bob, with Shullberger featuring Chris Eubank and John Mayrose.
If you miss this show then you’re a damn fool. There. I said it out loud.

April 10, 2006 on 1:29 pm | In Happenings | No CommentsBedbug, bedbug, biting oft,
In the mattress of the loft,
What immortal hand or arm,
Could kill thy parasitic charm?
First, we’ll tip you off to an unusual circumstance that bears mention–
Some of you folks mought be interested in checking out the Dave Rempis Percussion Quartet show at Nightlight on Monday the 10th. Well, because musicians get no respect, they had to move the time to 7 pm instead of 10 to make room for fucking bullshit “trivia night”. I’m serious.
A sad testament.
So Shullberger + Chris Eubank and John Mayrose will be at 7, followed by Rempis and his gang from Chicago. Hopefully they’ll play long and make all the trivia people wait.
Wednesday, April 12, Kings Barcade, 10:30 pm, donations: Unbeknownst.
Featuring Jane Allen Wilson on voice. You might remember her as child star “Baby Jane” Allen. Rob Koegler on drums. Christopher Thurston on double bass. Crawmote Bob on reeds & guitar. Possible others.
Monday, April 17, Kings Barcade, 10:00 pm: The Eastern Seaboard + Crowmeat Bob with Shullberger + Eubank & Mayrose.
The Eastern Seaboard from Charlotte put a record out on Black Saint not too long ago. With Brent Bagwell (Pyramid) on reeds, Jordon Schranz (Quivers) on double bass, and Seth Nanaa (Indian Summer) on drums.

Shullberger are the pulsoptional spin-off team of Todd Hershberger and Carrie Shull on double reeds. Joined by the ‘Bank on cello and John Mayrose on viola da gamba, which is like a 17th-century cello.
Next thing you know they’ll be cancelling a Susie Ibarra show to make way for a fucking spelling bee or something.
