Hyper-retrogressive Thermal Dispersion
May 23, 2006 on 10:16 am | In Happenings | No CommentsDear Stockholder:
This is a friendly reminder that, in celebration of the merger of Retroactive Dynamics, Inc., with the Cosmos, we are sponsoring a viewing of Space Is the Place, the nonfiction film of Sun Ra’s life and purpose. This will be followed by a preformance from percussionist Stephen Flinn (stephenflinn.net). Refreshments will be served at the bar. Showtime is 9 pm tonight. Kings Barcade. (Tuesday)
And of course tomorrow evening is the monthly SlawJazz at Kings with the Slawfeet Three. That’s Brad Cook (double bass) and Joe Westerlund (drums) of Deyarmond Edison with Slawfoot Bob (horns, guitar).
10:30. (Wednesday)
These are donation recommended events.
Thanks to Steve Burnett for pointing out that not only was yesterday the anniversary of Sun Ra’s Arrival, it was also the birthday of Arthur Conan Doyle, another famous spiritualist. And today is the birthday of Robert Moog, of whose inventions Le Son’y Ra was one of the first jazz musicians to make use.

May 17, 2006 on 6:35 am | In Happenings | No CommentsOne need not attempt some cynical conversion of the enlightened readers of this page, dear madams, other than to simply remind them of the power and beauty of the great Ra. And invite them to join us for a celebration of the 92nd anniversary of His Arrival on this struggling plane.
Though He has since traveled on, His mission is far from over. See the second entry below.
