multicameral beehive combine

November 25, 2007 on 10:42 am | In Happenings | No Comments

The hallucinated language of the bees is the multifarious operation of the post-bicameral mind as it persists in “civilized” humanity. The god-king voice (d)evolved into the plurality of voices that demand to be heard, as only the dead can speak, from the recesses of the disused language centers on one side of the brain or the other, depending on your leanings.
The less the voices are “heard”, the more deeply ingrained they are in the fabric of what you call “consciousness”. The seeds of subjectivity.

But tune in on Sunday, November 25, for an hour and a half of truck drivin’ music. WXDU(.org), 88.7 FM. 9:30 - 11:00 pm.
Don’t worry, we’ll play some Dave Dudley and Jerry Reed. And I even found a song about siamese twin truck drivers.
Next time I do the Mystery Show I promise it’ll be songs about bees.

Also:

Tuesday, November 27, 9:30 pm, Nightlight, Chapel Hill: Nation, Family and God with Killick and Diet Rock Star.
Nation, Family and God is me on horns and guitar and Jenks Miller on drums. You probably caught us at that coffee shop that one time.
Killick is somethin else. A virtuoso of the H’arpeggione. http://www.beyondthetrees.com/hartext.html
And he’s on page 43 of this week’s Independent.
Diet Rock Star is from Athens. I bet they’re pretty good. myspace.com/dietrockstarquartet

I helped book this one:
Friday, December 7, Nightlight: Jacob Wick/Reuben Radding/Andrew Greenwald with Charalambides.
A reductionist free improv trio from NY and a post-drone folk-inflected duo from Austin.
Could be a pip.

Okay then.
