blowin in the idiot wind
July 9, 2008 on 12:46 pm | In Happenings | No CommentsBob Dylan meant what he said — “Nothing really matters much. It’s doom alone that counts.”
So I’ll be throwing down some doom, blowing my futile horn and giving you a lethal dose of salvation, this Friday and Sunday with a cohort of good people. I call them Judge Schreber’s Avian Choir:
drums: Mike Isenberg
electric bass: John Farrell
violins: Sarah Griffin; Mietek Glinkowski; Hollis Brown
viola: Dan Ruccia
celli: Chris Eubank; Josh Starmer
bull fiddles: Christopher Thurston; Nic Slaton
guitar, bass clarinet, baritone saxophone, composition: Crowmeat Bob
performing a piece called “Molt.”
Friday, July 11, Nightlight: Judge Schreber’s Avian Choir with Bicameral Mind and Hem of His Garment.
Two of these band names are oblique references to hearing voices. The third one is a perverse Jesus reference. What more do you want?
Bicameral Mind are Bryce Clayton Eiman and Shaun Sandor: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=333635839
Hem of His Garment are Hem of His Garment. http://www.myspace.com/thehemofhisgarment
Sunday, July 13, Meymandi Theatre at the Murphey School Auditorium: see below
