January 30, 2010 on 10:51 am | In Happenings | No CommentsIn recognition of Corporate Personhood Month (one hundred and twenty-four years since Santa Clara Co. vs. Southern Pacific Railroad Company), we’ll be assembling for various Company functions over the next few weeks. Too long have our personified pleas fallen on deaf legislators. The wedding of the Corporation and the State is now more legal than apple pie. The most legal union in the lower 48. And most of the rest of the world.
February 3, Pour House, Raleigh, 9 pm, $5: TechNoiz Wednesdays.
Bloodworth (feat. Mike Isenberg, Zeke Graves, Christopher Thurston & Crowmeat Bob) will be performing alongside of Cheezface, Yohimbe & MC Bingo Blower.
Shards of distilled and purified racket, mitigated by fearful souls.
February 11, Museum of Life & Science, Durham, 7 pm: D Town Brass
I can’t find anything on the InterTubes about this, so I couldn’t tell you what the price tag is for spectators, but I believe it’s a wine soiree fundraiser for the Museum sorta thing.
February 11, 112 Hanna St, Carrboro, 9:30: Microcephalic Superintendent with ID M THEFT ABLE and Kevin Eugene Clark.
Microcephalic Superintendent is Todd Hershberger - bassoon; Carrie Shull - oboe, english horn; Dan Ruccia - viola; Crowmeat Bob - reeds. We’ll be throwing down an improvised set.
ID M THEFT ABLE blew some minds with his extraordinary vocal technique a spell back at High Zero. Mine included. I’m sure he will do the same here.
Kevin Clark has some stuff on vimeo.
February 12, Volume 11, Raleigh, 9:00: Kolyma with Torpor and Zamine.
Kolyma has been busy and we’ve got a bunch of new stuff that’s never been played live. Whatever Will to Live that you have left, we will feed it, fatten it, and slaughter it.
Zamine is a brand new band. Torpor is pretty new.
