Write on My Bones

May 26, 2010 on 7:14 am | In Happenings | No Comments

Nothing seems to age in this lurid swamp. Could be everything is so ancient there’s nothing left to become. Every strain of boiling life has run its course and left its imprint. But if you need me, you know where I’ll be: in this foetid bloody sump fearing the fate of my bones when I die.

Friday, May 28, Nightlight, Chapel Hill, 10 pm: Savage Knights with Ahleuchatistas.
More than ever, Ahleuchatistas are a grinding cauldron of bad-assery. Pummeling grooves striated with unpredictable rhythmic fluctuations.
And they’re on Tzadik, for fuck’s sake.
Savage Knights will warm up the crowd, so put on your dancin’ shoes.

Thursday, June 3, 904 W. Main St, Carrboro: Nervous Creep with Dust Busters.
An evening of porch-settin’ music on Ethan C’s porch. Not sure of the timing yet.
Dust Busters are from Brooklyn.
Nervous Creep are Zeke Graves, Aaron Smithers, Charlie Hearon, and Crowmeat Bob.

Saturday, June 5, Local 506, Chapel Hill, 10 pm, $7: D-Town Brass with Bustello and Erie Choir.
That’s right.

Tuesday, June 8, All Day Records, Carrboro, 8 pm: Crowmeat Bob with Screwed Anthologies.
At Ethan’s and Charlie’s brand new storefront.
I ain’t been able to find a home site for Screwed Anthologies, but Google them and you’ll find plenty of info. They’re all about some time travel.
So I reckon what I might do, in the spirit of time travel, is play along with some home recordings I made in the mid-90’s. As well as some other things.
I’ll be opening.

Saturday, June 12, Local 506, Chapel Hill, 10 pm, $7/$8: Dexter Romweber and the New Romans with Countdown Quartet.
Ain’t seen the Countdown Quartet in a fair spell. Bet you haven’t neither.
